SHAG CELEB STYLIST SANDY POIRIER AND SHAG MAKEUP ARTIST VICKY V HAD THE HONOR OF WORKING WITH FORMENTO2 PHOTOGRAPHY AND JOE PERRY FOR THE COVER SHOT OF BOSTON MAGAZINE.
SHAG owner, celebrity stylist and Renaissance man Sandy Poirier took it to the graveyard this weekend with his Nikon D3S to shoot this amazing video with Seattle model and friend Meriesther Luce. He’s been drawing inspiration lately for and from his upcoming Porn Is The New Punk Rock line of t-shirts (launching Friday, September 17th at Gypsy Bar opening night), and you can tell!
Never one to be behind the curve on anything, be it style OR technology, you can expect a lot more video from SHAG this fall and next year. We still love our photo shoots but seeing the clothes and the hair moving really lends itself to our rockstar attitude and the fun we have shooting.
Also stay tuned for news on the Porn Is The New Punk Rock shirt launch! The invite and details will go up here in the next day or two and there will be LOTS of creative hair by our stylists to be seen…
As you may have heard by now, last week SHAG owner Sandy Poirier spoke on Wednesday night (4/14) at the ICA, as part of a panel discussion called Skin. The two other panel members, Dr. Lakra (the artist whose amazing tattoo art exhibition just opened) and Allen Zadeh (Director of Industrial Design at SmartDesign) were joined by moderator Stephanie Murg (of successful design blog Unbeige) in a presentation/discussion about body art and modification today.

A very special thank you to Laura Sauter of Agency Bel for all of her hard work to a very successful end. SHAG thanks Stuff Magazine and Sauza Tequila for their part in making our cocktail party fabulous!
Also, thanks to Ben Gebo for the myriad of photographs for us to choose from.
After our fabulous cocktail party last night celebrating artist Dr. Lakra and Sandy speaking as part of a panel at the ICA, the SHAG staff woke up to more good news…we found out today that we won for Best Women’s Haircut in the 2010 Phoenix Poll!
“The motto at this Southie salon is “Rock Star Hair.” And rock it they do at SHAG, with a permanent disco ball, club lights, and a DJ setup. MTV (along with TLC, the Discovery Channel, and the Style Network) has featured the shop and its owner, the heavily tattooed Sandy Poirier. If that’s not a rock-star stamp of approval, than we don’t know what is.”
